USC iLearn -- Foundations of Digital Learning
The SAMR Model outlines how most teachers implement digital learning:
Substitution: Teachers take a lesson, assignment, or presentation and simply use technology to replicate that project they have used previously.
Augmentation: Using technology, teachers change the original assignment in some way.
Modification: Teachers use technology to improve the assignment or lesson.
Redefinition: Applying technology, teachers present a lesson or students do an assignment in a way that would be impossible without technology.
Good use of technology is based on the following:
- Understanding of Grade Level and Academic Standards
- Bloom's Revised Taxonomy
