LETRS!

Staff who are involved in teaching reading skills at USC are actively participating in LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training once per month to enhance their knowledge and skills in literacy instruction. This ongoing professional development program focuses on the science of reading and equips educators with effective strategies to support students in developing strong reading and writing skills. By engaging in LETRS training, the staff is deepening their understanding of the critical components of literacy, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The monthly sessions foster collaboration among teachers, ensuring that best practices are implemented across grade levels and subject areas. This commitment to continuous learning reflects USC's dedication to providing the highest quality education for all students.
