Maintenance Technician

The United South Central School District is seeking a Day Shift Maintenance Technician to join our Building and Grounds team at USC Public Schools.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Day Shift Hours

  • Salary Range: $19.20-$20.80 per hour

Job Summary:
United South Central Schools is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill the role of Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, servicing, and maintaining all snow removal and groundskeeping equipment, as well as performing a variety of building maintenance tasks. This position reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds Administrator.

Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following sets of qualifications:

  1. Possess a valid 2nd Class C Boiler License.

  2. Have two years of technical training in a related trades field.

  3. Have the ability to operate, service, and maintain all snow removal and all groundskeeping equipment.

OR

  1. Possess a valid 2nd Class C Boiler License.

  2. Have three years of successful full-time experience in mechanical work, minor plumbing, minor electrical, building maintenance, or carpentry.

  3. Have the ability to operate, service, and maintain all snow removal and all groundskeeping equipment.

Additionally, candidates must possess a valid certification in minor plumbing and minor electrical from the State of Minnesota.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment and facility maintenance as directed by the Director of Buildings and Grounds Administrator.

  • Operate, service, and maintain all snow removal and groundskeeping equipment.

  • Conduct mechanical repairs and routine maintenance on building systems.

  • Assist with minor plumbing and electrical repairs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Complete other maintenance-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • The capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
