In Mr. Huiras' class, students explored the medieval feudal system, learning about the roles of kings, knights, and peasants and how this system provided protection and land in exchange for service. The class delved into the structure of feudalism, where kings granted land to nobles and knights in return for military service and loyalty, while peasants worked the land in exchange for protection and a place to live. By examining the relationships and responsibilities within this hierarchical system, students gained a deeper understanding of how feudalism shaped medieval society and ensured stability during a time when warfare and instability were common. Through discussions and activities, students also reflected on how these roles influenced the lives of individuals in the Middle Ages, offering insights into the social and economic dynamics of the time.
